RJ received his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with a major in marketing from the University of Manitoba in 1971. He joined an international accounting firm, now known as Deloitte and Touche, and earned his Chartered Accountant designation. He has practiced as a professional accountant in three countries and has been involved in audit, accounting, taxation and consulting engagements for a variety of clients from multi-national conglomerates and international banking giants to one-man businesses.
Over the years, RJ has also been recruited by clients to hold senior level management positions including serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of a multi-million dollar group of international companies involved in medical education.
With respect to community service, RJ has served as an officer and treasurer for numerous business and cultural organizations. He is an avid runner, competing in the Master division of races ranging from 5K to marathons.
